The Alfa Romeo Brera and Spider will now be available with 197bhp 1750 TBi petrol and the 168bhp 2.0 JTDM diesel engines.
The engines were introduced to the Alfa 159 range late last year, earning positive reviews.

The 1750 TBi unit has turbocharging, direct injection and variable valve timing. It produces 197bhp from just 1742cc and 236lb ft from just 1400rpm.
The Brera and Spider hit 0-62mph in 7.7 and 7.8sec respectively, before going on to a top speed of 146mph. Emissions are 189g/km for the Brera and 192g/km for the Spider.
Impressively, routine maintenance intervals for the engine is set at every 21,000 miles.
The 2.0 JTDM delivers 265lb ft from 1750rpm, with the Brera and Spider travelling from 0-62mph in 8.8 and 9.0sec respectively. Top speed for both cars is 135mph, while CO2 emissions are 142g/km.
Again, the service interval is every 21,000 miles.
Both cars also get a new trim level - Italia Independent. These cars will be finished in matt black, have 18-inch black alloys, red brake calipers and an Alfa 8C inspired aluminium fuel cap.

Inside, the car gets a leather steering wheel, leather seats, red stictching, carbonfibre trim inserts, aluminium pedals and a combined radio and sat-nav sytem.
