Between January and June, the firm sold a record 378,747 units, a 15 per cent year-on-year rise.

Skoda’s previous best year was 2009, where sales were buoyed by strong demand from pan-European scrappage incentive schemes.
Skoda sold a total of 684,226 units last year and has said it expects to at least match that figure in 2010.
