Bruno Senna was axed from the HRT F1 team for the British GP because of a critical email he accidentally sent to his boss, according to a report.
German magazine speculation Auto Bild Motorsport claims Senna wrote a scathing email, criticising HRT chief Colin Kolles‘ management style, before accidentally sending it to Kolles himself.
The team initially refused to comment on the reason for replacing Senna with Japanese driver Sakon Yamamoto, with suggestions that it was because the Japanese reportedly brings $5 million (£3.2m) in sponsorship to F1.
With Senna now due to return for the team at the German GP, however, HRT released a statement saying it had simply wanted to give an "opportunity" for Yamamoto, leading to further speculation.
Auto Bild suggested that dropping the Brazilian was a form of disciplinary action for sending the email.
It is also claims that it was actually Senna's team mate Karun Chandhok who was closer to losing his seat for the British race, due to late sponsor payments.
