Anthony Sheriff alleges he was unfairly treated

Antony Sheriff, former managing director of McLaren Automotive, is suing the comany for wrongful dismissal. He was suspended from his role by McLaren earlier this year.

Sheriff has filed a claim in the High Court alleging he was unfairly dismissed following a dispute over a company equity share incentive plan.

As a result of the dispute, Sheriff claims that he was informed his contract would be terminated in January 2016, the date his contract with McLaren was due to end. Sheriff says he was then escorted from McLaren's building.

Sheriff then alleges that he formally complained, and was told he was under investigation for an unspecified reason.

McLaren has subsequently appointed Mike Flewitt as chief executive officer.

It has not commented on Sheriff's action.
