Detroit bankruptcy to have 'no impact' on motor show; BMW cooperates with Chargemaster to improve E-mobility; pair of special edition Skoda revealed

The 2014 North American International Auto Show is claimed to be unaffected by the bankruptcy of Detroit, where the motor show is hosted. According to a release from the organisers, the Cobo Centre, the show's venue, is an independent entity and does not require any funding from the city to operate.

Chargemaster, a UK provider of electric vehicle charging infrastructure, has received investment from BMW to expand the UK's charging network in preparation for the arrival of BMW's i brand, which includes the new i3. Both will also work together to promote electric vehicles and various E-mobility services.

Skoda has launched a pair of special edition Skoda Fabias. The new Fabia Combi 'Monte Carlo' gets black detailing, 16-inch alloy wheels and tinted windows, as well as standard-fit sports suspension. The Fabia 'Reaction' also features black detailing and an interior leather upgrade package that adds a leather-trimmed wheel, gearstick and handbrake.
