This is the Mercedes E-class estate, which has been unveiled at the Frankfurt motor show.
Mercedes claims its designers used long horizontal lines to emphasis the car’s sporty looks and practical nature. Blacked out B and C-pillars feature, which blend into the privacy glass. Other design features include its flared wheel arches, an automatic tailgate and new LED front and rear lights.

The E-class estate can seat seven people and a quick fold third row of seats features to maximise luggage capacity. The boot’s capacity is 1950 litres, which is 266 litres more than the new BMW 5-series GT.
Equipment includes a direct control suspension system with adaptive damping, while safety kit includes nine airbags, a drowsiness detection system (advanced cruise control and automatic braking in emergencies.
The estate will initially be offered with three diesel and two petrol engines. Petrol models include the 288bhp E350 CGI BlueEfficiency and the 383bhp E500. The diesel models include the 168bhp E220 CDI BlueEfficiency, the 201bhp E250 CDI BlueEfficiency, and the 228bhp E350 CDI BlueEfficiency.
The E-class estate will go on sale in November, with prices set to be announced nearer the launch.
