Bentley will recall 1436 of its vehicles globally after it was found the ‘flying B’ bonnet ornament on its cars may not retract properly in an accident.
The cars being recalled are the Brooklands, Azure and Arnage models built between October 2006 and when the models were discontinued in 2009.

Bentley says that “water ingress into the internal mechanism” might prevent the winged statue from retracting in the event of an accident.
The company says they took the decision after a UK dealer spotted the problem. The company was also served with a recall notice by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), the US’s road safety body.
The NHTSA said: “This could increase the risk of injury to a pedestrian in the event of a crash.”
