The Audi Q7 range will get a new engine line-up, eight-speed gearbox, and added efficiency as part of a raft of changes.
The 4x4's current 3.6 and 4.2-litre FSI petrol engines will be replaced by two supercharged 3.0-litre TFSI units, resulting in economy improvements of 12 and 16 per cent respectively.
They are also faster than the units they replace. The 268bhp version powers the car from 0 to 60mph in 7.9 seconds, while in the 328bhp version that figure drops to 6.9 seconds. Both average 26.4mpg and have CO2 emissions of 249g/km.
The 3.0 TDI engine will also be replaced by a new, lighter version of the unit, which Audi claims will result in a 19 per cent increase in fuel economy.
The new diesel engine is 20kg lighter than its predecessor, and has start-stop technology and an eight-speed tiptronic transmission. It will take the Q7 from 0-62 in 7.9 seconds, and on to a top speed of 135mph.
The revised Audi Q7 will cost between £40,135 and £54,055 and is available to order now.
