Audi A3 cabriolet gets 1.2-litre

The Audi A3 cabriolet is now available with a 1.2-litre engine.

The 104bhp unit is the smallest petrol engine ever to power an Audi, but according to the manufacturer it matches the output of the 1.6 MPI unit it replaces.

Linked to a six-speed manual gearbox, the 1.2 TFSI travels from 0-62mph in 12.2 seconds and goes on to a top speed of 118mph – improvements of 0.3 seconds and 4mph over the 1.6 MPI.

It emits 132g/km – 35g/km less than the previous car - while also boosting average economy by 9.2mpg to 49.6mpg.

Prices start from £19,985 – £490 less than the model it replaces.
