The FX0d is powered by a 235bhp, 406lb ft direct-injection 3.0-litre V6 diesel unit that helps the car achieve CO2 emissions of 238g/km and combined fuel consumption of 31.4mpg. The FX30d can get from 0-62mph in 8.3sec.

Four trim levels are offered: GT, GT Premium, S and S Premium.

Speaking at the launch of the diesel models at the Geneva motor show in March, Infiniti’s European vice-president Jim Wright said a diesel engine was a must if the firm was to establish itself in Europe.

“We were aware from the outset that for Infiniti to offer a complete range a powerful diesel engine was a must, especially in the European premium SUV market where diesel represents the bulk of sector sales,” he said.
