The facelifted Mercedes S-class has been fitted with world-first technology that allows both driver and passenger to view different things on the same screen, at the same time.
It means drivers will be able to view the sat-nav while front seat passengers watch a film from the same screen.
Benz’s high-tech ‘Splitview’ system has been years in the making and is capable of projecting different moving images depending on where you sit in relation to it.
Splitview has been developed with audio-visual experts Blaupunkt and Bosch.
The eight-inch touchscreen appears no different to the standard unit. But passengers will control a separate menu for TV and audio function via their own remote.
There’s no word yet on how much this high-tech option will cost, but it will be offered on the new S-class in the first half of next year.
