This is the Zenvo ST1, a Danish supercar whose V8 engine produces more than 1100bhp - and it's coming to the UK.
Zenvo Automotive started development of the prototype version in 2004, with the brief of producing a “trackworthy supercar that would be also suitable for everyday use”.
The firm is keen to make the car as Danish as possible, with many components coming from local suppliers. All R&D and design has taken place in the country.
The ST1 is powered by a 7.0-litre V8 engine, which is mated to a six-speed manual gearbox. The supercharged and turbocharged unit has been tuned to produce 1104bhp and 1055lb ft of torque, while a hydraulic limited-slip differential also features. The engine has been designed to run on both petrol and E85 bio-ethanol.
It has an electronically limited top speed of 233mph and can get from 0-62mph in a claimed 3.0sec. It weighs 1376kg thanks to the use of a lightweight steel spaceframe, giving it a power-to-weight ratio of 802bhp per tonne. The bodywork is made up of lightweight carbonfibre panels.
The St1 runs on 19-inch wheels at the front and 20-inch wheels at the rear, with specially designed Michelin tyres.
It has double-wishbone suspension all round, with adjustable anti-roll bars and three-way adjustable hydraulic shock absorbers.
Zenvo is keen to make the ST1 as comfortable as possible and has included a range of creature comforts, including climate control, sat-nav, a head-up display and cruise control. No fuel economy of CO2 emission figures have been released.
The car will be hand-built in Denmark, with production due to start later this year. Just 15 units will be produced for “specially approved customers”, with a price tag of 850,000 euro (£770,000).
A company spokesman told Autocar that the car would be available in the UK in right-hand drive and the company was currently in talks with several dealer networks about selling it.
