Panoz has released the first official picture of its new sports car that will be launched at next month’s Le Mans 24 Hours.
Features on the Panoz Abruzzi Spirit of Le Mans include a body made from recycled materials and a three-stage cooling system that boosts efficiency and performance.

The front-engined Abruzzi is likely to be built on an aluminium chassis evolved from the firm’s outgoing Esperante. Power is expected to come from a 4.6-litre Ford V8 tuned to produce around 300bhp.
“We are truly excited about the Panoz Abruzzi – not only about the design and performance of the car, but by the whole concept it represents,” said company boss Don Panoz.
“The styling is inspired from a classic era when racers would literally drive their own cars to Le Mans to compete and then drive back home.
“However, the technology of the Panoz Abruzzi Spirit of Le Mans is absolutely leading edge. We will provide many more details about the concept and some very special elements surrounding this exciting new car next month at Le Mans.”
The car is expected to be revealed to the media on 5 June.
