Bentley has created an extra 140 jobs at its Crewe HQ after the biggest sales leap in the company’s history. A total of 90 engineers and 50 apprentices will be employed under the new scheme, with some working on Bentley’s 2016 SUV. The £800m three-year investment kick-starts the firm's range expansion.
BMW looks set to announce plans to build its first manufacturing plant in Mexico in July. A German newspaper reports that the new factory will initially produce as many as 100,000 cars per year, with models likely to be built there including the 3-series saloon. BMW boss Norbert Reithofer has previously said the firm will need an additional factory in North America to meet rising demand.
Mazda will enter the Nürburgring 24 Hours in June 2014 to commemorate 25 years since the first Mazda MX-5 was launched. JOTA Sport will race prepare and manage an MX-5 which will be driven by a team of four drivers. Mazda has sold 940,000 MX-5s worldwide since 1989. Read more about the history of the MX-5 here.
