Performance hatchback buyers can also get a free Prodrive Performance pack worth £3200

Subaru has cut the price of its Impreza WRX by £680 to and is also offering a free Prodrive Performance pack to potential buyers.

Now starting from £18,995, the Impreza WRX gets the £3200 performance pack as standard for no extra cost. The pack adds a reconfigured ECU and high-flow sports exhaust pack to enhance the performance of the Impreza. It also adds new 18-Inch alloy wheels and new tyres.

The Prodrive Performance pack improves the WRX's 0-62mph of 6.5sec to 5.9sec. The STI Type UK, which also benefits from the free pack upgrade, has 0.4sec shaved off its 0-62mph time of 5.2sec.

Kenyon Neads, Subaru UK marketing director, said: "The WRX and STI are performance-car icons with a seriously loyal following and we hope that the prospect of these free upgrades will broaden their appeal still further."

The offer will run until the end of June.
