Which cars are affected, how many and how long will fix take?

Toyota UK has confirmed that 180,865 cars will be recalled in the UK, with work to fix the problematic accelerator pedals due to begin on February 10.

As in the US, where recall work has already begun, Toyota UK will install a precision-cut steel reinforcement bar into the accelerator pedal assembly.

Toyota estimates the work will take about 30 minutes to complete.

UK models affected by the recall:Auris (Oct 2006 - 5 Jan 2010)Avensis (Nov 2008 - Dec 2009)Aygo (Feb 2005 - Aug 2009) - note only AYGO MMT is affectedCorolla (Oct 2006 - Dec 2009)iQ (Nov 2008 - Nov 2009)Verso (Feb 2009 - 5 Jan 2010)Yaris (Nov 2005 - Sep 2009)

No other UK models are affected.
