The steering wheel now has controls for the radio, cruise control, hands-free phone and other vehicle functions. There is a new lockable console and the centre stack has been redesigned to be easier to reach and operate.
Heated, powered mirrors are now available and visibility has been improved courtesy of larger rear windows.
The car’s entertainment system has also been upgraded with USB and bluetooth connectivity. Twelve-volt accessory outlets and a new 110-volt outlet have also been added.
The Wrangler’s acoustics have also been improved and Chrysler claims this has resulted in significantly reduced interior noise.
There are several new colours available for 2011 including Detonator Yellow, Sahara Tan, Cosmos Blue and Deep Cherry Red, and the Wrangler Unlimited Sahara models will be given a body-coloured hard-top.
Production began earlier this week at the Toledo Assembly Complex in Toledo, Ohio.
