Mitsubishi has cut the price of its Mitsubishi Shogun by up between £3900 and £5000, meaning the range now starts at £26,199. The biggest reductions are on long-wheelbase, SG3 and SG4 models. Mitsubishi says the move is to enable it to further increase sales volume. This year, Mitsubishi has grown sales by 41 per cent and claims it is the UK's fastest-growing brand.
The Volkswagen Tiguan Match is to join the range. It costs £450 less than the SE model it replaces, but features £700 of additional equipment including navigation, park sensors, iPhone connectivity and DAB. It is available in two-and four-wheel drive configurations with 2.0-litre petrol and diesel engines and a 1.4-litre petrol.
A brochure showing the latest-generation Honda Jazz Mugen have appeared online. The Japanese-market Fit will be offered in two different Mugen versions, and both hybrid and conventional IC-engined models. It is thought the upgrades are purely cosmetic. It is not yet known if these Mugen parts will be available when the car launches in Europe in 18 months' time.
Ford has received more than 3000 orders for its Fiesta ST - double the expected number. One third of European orders come from the UK. Ford is to increase production by 15 per cent - to 60 units a day - to help satisfy demand.
