Lightweight Lotus Evora showcases marque's motorsport involvement

This is the Lotus Evora Carbon Concept, a lightweight, motorsport inspired one-off.

As its name suggests, the car - which is mechanically identical to the standard Evora - is fitted with carbonfibre parts to lower its weight, including structural carbonfibre roof, diffuser and splitter. Lotus has not revealed how much weight has been saved.

Inside, the car features extensive use of leather and alcantara alongside carbonfibre panels.

It sits on 19-inch wheels.

Officially the car has been produced to highlight Lotus's involvement in motorsport, and will not go on sale.

However, reports suggest it could be produced as a limited edition if there is enough customer interest, or sold as a retro fit package.
