Nissan is considering giving its Leaf EV a light facelift, or at least a modest round of improvements, when it goes into production in the UK in 2013.
The improvements will allow Nissan the chance to make improvements following customer feedback.
Changes would include the body and interior being retooled for European build. The motor and control systems will come from Japan.
The UK order books on the car opened on September 1, when initial deposits of £257 were accepted via Nissan’s website.

Depositors are being given the opportunity to test drive the Leaf before December 2010, before formally confirming their order. UK deliveries will begin in March 2011.
Nissan claimed in June this year that it had received 19,000 pre-orders for the car, a figure almost double the 10,000 that will be made in its first year of production.
The car will cost from £23,350 (including a £5000 government incentive) in the UK.
